Bareback for Balance
- Adult riders learn proven bareback techniques while
schooling their intermediate to advanced horses in light
bits or bosels.
- Develop core strength and natural balance without the
aid of weight bearing stirrups, instead using bareback
pads as needed.
- Experience more effective communication and
cooperation by mastering seat, weight and leg cues,
while protecting the horse’s back with proper positions.
- Build confidence in horse and rider while practicing safe,
fun and interesting exercises which offer the horse
purpose and improve his agility as they enhance balance
and partnership.
- Enjoy a supportive group environment and learn simple
drill routines with the most experienced liberty instructor
in the northwest.

Liberty Group Riding Lessons
For nearly 30 years, Janis Wroten-Graham (formerly
Janis Meek) was director of the Eh-Capa Bareback
Riders drill team, which performed at events all over the
Western United States and Canada. She has taught
individual and group lessons (with and without tack) for
both children and adults and has also managed several
therapeutic riding programs for those with physical and
cognitive disabilities. A professional tutor, she currently
offers riding lessons and equine assisted learning
programs at Goodhorse Ranch, located off Highway 16
in Eagle, Idaho. Five 2-hour group sessions for
